Ok, i have a WD1600U017-004 Western Digital external hard drive, its showing up unknown device, when i uninstall n reinstall its installing but stilll say unknown device (usb device is not recognize), its not showing up in my computer or disk management, the formatting program the in western digital web site is not installing i'm getting some error (about a certian file is missing in order to install this program or something of that nature), idk i got stuff on my hard drive i would like to get access to does anyone have any idea on what i should do?
